Heaven-Sent Part 6
When we dare to imagine creatively, we tap into heaven, which is the source of all creativity. Every creative idea is heaven-sent. Imagination takes us beyond ordinary thought, beyond the constraints and limitations that keep us locked into “what is.” Too often we tell ourselves, “That’s not possible,” and we shut down the path that might have led to something new. But in genuine imagination, we let go of all limitations and open ourselves to the unbelievable, the impossible, and the unimaginable.
When in the sacred act of imagining, barriers fall away. We begin to ask questions like: “What if…?” “I wonder about…?” “What would it be like if…?” “How might we make this happen?” “Let’s pretend…” “I am thinking of a way to…” “Suppose for a moment that…” These simple phrases open the gate and invite the imagination to run free, to move us beyond the practical into another realm of possibility.
In that realm of possibility, the usual rules do not apply. Here, limitations dissolve, and what once seemed foolish or impossible takes shape. Imagination calls forth not only the mind but also the heart and the body. Think of the Wright brothers. They had to silence the cautionary voices that said things like, “If we were meant to fly, God would have given us wings.” Instead, their hearts envisioned flight, their minds charted its path, and their bodies felt the lightness of soaring long before it became reality.
Our imagination is heaven-sent. It is the divine gift that empowers us to transcend limitations and gives flight to the full intelligence of our head, heart, and body.
Spiritual practice: What challenge in your life calls for a breakthrough? Engage your heaven-sent imagination without limits, and see what arises.
Self-inquiry: Why do you think God gave us the power to imagine?
Prayer:
Dear God, I give You thanks and praise for the heaven-sent gift of imagination. Amen.
