Soul Power Part 14
Today, let us reflect on the Beatitudes and their natural correlation with Enneagram ego and soul types.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the Children of God." Ego Type Nines see all sides of every situation, avoid conflict and want to be in everyone's good graces. On a deep level, Nines believe they are not lovable, so any rejection reinforces that belief. In this perpetual dilemma, they debase themselves and go to sleep on life. But they are animated and motivated if they embrace Sacred Action at Soul Point Three. Then they wake up, get into action, and see themselves through the eyes of love. From the basis of self-love and love for others, Nines move in the world as peacemakers.
"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." One of the most misunderstood Ego Types is Number Four. Being unique, their ideas and behaviors are frequently objects of ridicule. Four's advocacy for the neglected, mistreated, and outcast meets opposition and even persecution from proponents of the status quo. But when Fours go to their Soul Point at One, Sacred Righteousness, they are emboldened to follow the right action, regardless of the sacrifice. This brings them the Kingdom of Heaven.
"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Ego Type Ones are standard bearers for ethics, rights and wrongs and the conscience of a group. Ones know the right way to go. But they become rigid and judgmental if they monitor, control, and dictate to others. On the other hand, if their perceptions are rooted in God, they go to their Soul Point at Seven and embrace Sacred Joy. Sacred Joy allows Ones to continue their right action without over-controlling, judging, bitterness, or anger. Joy offsets the ridicule they receive for leading in the paths of righteousness.

Dear God,
As I sit with these Holy Beatitudes, I experience how essential they are in drawing nearer to your goodness and mercy that follow us all the days of our lives. When I see how beautiful these qualities are in action, I realize how long it will take to embody them truly. Nevertheless, I pray for the strength, wisdom, and courage to make them a part of my being. Amen.
