Reflections on Everyday Things Part 4

Your greatest strength has nothing to do with force but everything to do with alignment.

We can do things we never imagined. We carry power we have never tested. We hold strength far beyond what we believe, but most of us never discover it until we are backed into a corner. Some of us do not know we have the power to say “No.” Some do not know we have the power to say “Yes.” Many of us do not realize we have the strength to speak our truth and let the consequences fall where they may.

This is not physical strength. It is the strength of the head, the heart, and the gut moving as one. It makes us steady, grounded and unshakeable. But the deepest strength of all comes from something greater than ourselves. True spiritual strength is born when we are aligned with Divine Truth.

When we rely only on the ego, we may have the sense of power. We can construct convincing mental frameworks that tell us we are strong. But structures built by the mind alone cannot sustain us. They eventually crack under pressure. Divine Truth does not crack.

When our personal truth is genuinely aligned with Divine Truth, it is supported by something eternal. It becomes clear, steady, and resilient. But when we try to force our self-made truth into Divine Truth, it is like trying to mix oil and water. They will not combine.

If we are awake enough to sense that our “truth” is out of alignment, we must pause. Regroup. Realign. Otherwise, we move forward powered only by limited strength, the strength of ego, not Spirit.

Divine Truth makes us our strongest. What must we sacrifice in order to be aligned with divine truth? We must give up the satisfaction of fulfilling the ego’s story… a satisfaction that may be wonderful at first but eventually crumbles. Alignment with Divine Will is not like trying to mix oil and water. Alignment is placing everything in the container of Divine Love where everything becomes one, naturally.

Spiritual practice and self-inquiry: What is my current relationship with Divine Truth? When have I acted from ego strength rather than spiritual alignment? How can I discern the difference between my personal truth and Divine Truth? What does it feel like in my body when both are one?

Prayer:

Dear God, Let Your truth be the foundation of my strength. Strip away what is ego and align me with what is eternal. May my words, my choices, and my power arise from You. Amen.
