Soul Power Part 12
Jesus delivers the most profound description of the soul. He does this in nine separate illustrations called the Beatitudes that are recorded in Matthew 5:3-12. Remarkably, if we look closely at each Beatitude, we see that they are descriptions of the nine ego types' return to soul. I will present the first three Beatitudes today with explanations and the others in the next two days.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." Threes feel unlovable and are fixated on accomplishment to win the admiration of others. They are mistaken however, because regardless of how much they accomplish, they still feel unlovable. But when they go to the Sacred Kinship of Soul Point Six, they empty themselves of the spirit of self and realize the power of community over the focus on self. Then they face the truth of who they are and take their place as part of the Kingdom of God.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Sevens are disconnected from their souls who are co-creators with God. They have the misperception that they can imitate the lost connection by over-consuming everything that will entertain them and distract them from pain. They think that through planning, they have the bliss of the lost connection. This brings much needless suffering. But when they to go to their Soul Point at Five, Sacred Wisdom, they leave their merry-go-rounds and by listening to the still, small voice, finally face their pain and grief. In being able to mourn, they receive God's comfort.
"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." Twos are prideful and want to be admired by others for their good works. They deny their needs and focus on giving to others as the source of all. This causes them much suffering. They go to their Soul Point at Four, Sacred Creativity where, in openness to other ways of perceiving themselves, they move in the world authentically. In this movement to soul, they accept their needs. But to meet their needs, they live in meekness instead of pridefulness. Twos finally receive and, in turn, are blessed with all they need and more.
Spiritual practice: Read the Beatitudes in Matthew to see which ones most resonate with your soul.
Self-inquiry: Can I find my soul in any of the three Beatitudes above?
Dear God, Bless our souls. Amen
