Soul Power Part 1

Join us for this week’s Daily Reflections on "Soul Power."

Most of us tend to live in one of our three centers of intelligence: our bodies, heads or hearts, but we forget that our soul is the most important place to live.

The soul is more significant than any of the three intelligence centers because it fuels all three centers. Yes, neither the heart, mind, nor body center perform to their fullest unless they’re energized by soul power.

The body, mind and heart are amazing centers without which we could not live. However, when the ego powers them, their capacities are limited. The ego has a narrative, a story of how our life is supposed to go. So, it hires one, two or all three centers to accomplish what it wants. After the center finishes the task, it simply waits for when the ego needs it again.

The soul has no narrative as such and is not geared to the ego’s goals. Instead, it goes with divine nudges in every present moment. The soul knows our basic life plan and purpose. These are part of our sacred contract with the Divine, but these deepest of knowings are not part of our conscious every day awareness. But when we tap into the power of the soul, we are transformed. In soul we see the truth more clearly (Holy Transparency) and we become conduits for a power beyond ourselves. All facets of the Enneagram of Soul open up to us: Scared Righteousness, Sacred Benevolent Compassion, Sacred Action, Sacred Creativity, Sacred Wisdom, Sacred Kinship, Sacred Joy, Sacred Power, and Sacred Loving Peace.

Famous dancer Martha Graham, said “Dance is the language of the soul.”

Spiritual practice: Go inside your body and feel the power of your soul. What movement does your body want to make as you connect to this power.

Self-inquiry: What would block you from feeling the higher power of your soul?

Dear God,

But for the power of my soul, I could not live and move and have my being. I am so grateful. Amen
