Essential Aspects and the Wisdom of the Ancient Enneagram Part 3
What does our essence do while we are here on earth? It extends and deepens in richness, wisdom, and wholeness. It burns away anything that would impede its progress. Our essence, which is tethered to the Divine, goes through life experiences that help it love even more than it knew how to love when it first came to earth.
Yes, we are on a journey and if not for access to our divine, essential qualities we would have nothing to draw from to help us on that journey. Christ himself acknowledged that we all have what we need inside of us if we but ask. In consciousness studies, we focus on accessing our essential qualities.
A story told by Bishop Bill Stough is: There are two things God will ask us when we arrive back to heaven from our sojourn here on earth. Those two questions are: “Did you have fun?” and “How well did you love?”
Spiritual practice: Journal some of the things that stood in the way of your wholeness, that have now been burned away by the experiences of life?
Self-inquiry: How well do you love?
Prayer:
Dear God, I feel my essence in the present moment when nothing else matters but my soul. I am having more and more of those moments. I pray that we, as a world, may return to our essence. Amen.
